Sagot & Schaffer, P.C. was founded by Neil Sagot in 2002, when Neil and two other attorneys left the Union Labor Law Firm which Neil had also founded in 1980 in Center City Philadelphia. Neil was the Managing Partner of that Labor Union Law Firm for Twenty-two years prior to moving the practice to Bensalem, Pennsylvania in 2002. Neil was born on January 1, 1947 at Saint Agnes Hospital on Broad Street in South Philly, just as the Mummers Parade was working its way toward City Hall. He is married to the former Maureen McGinty and is the father of five and grandfather of eight.
Neil is a product of the Philadelphia public school system, graduating from Northeast High in 1965. He received a degree from Philadelphia University in 1969 and a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1974. Neil’s parents and grandparents were also life long Philadelphia area residents. His father was the President of the local Mailers Union and a Labor Union Lawyer in Philadelphia. The Labor Union movement was a part of Neil’s life since early childhood. Through the years Neil’s law firms have represented dozens of local Unions. He managed numerous Legal Services Plans for many area Unions and represented individuals in court on thousands of occasions.
Neil has been a staunch litigator and member of the Trial Lawyers Association since becoming a licensed Attorney in 1974. His principal practice areas for more than forty years have been in Personal Injury and Workers Compensation law. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Federal Court.
